Day 1 - ARRIVAL – SINHARAJA

Day 2 - CYCLE TRIAL IN VILLAGE

Trek through the Sinharaja Rain Forest, one of Asia’s best known Rain Forests. The Sinharaja Rain Forest is a biodiversity hotspot and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Sinharaja Rain Forest being just 21km from east to west and 07km from north to south is relatively small in contrast to other rain forests. However this living heritage with its high diversity of vegetation has made it a favorable sanctuary for various species of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects, fish, amphibians and plant life; all co-existing within the ecosystem, resulting in over 50% of the country’s endemic species of wildlife being found here.
The vegetation at Sinharaja is that of a tropical wet evergreen forest with large trees that grow to heights of 35m to 40m and even going up to 50m, believed to have unbelievable genetic potential.
Fauna of Sinharaja have revealed that there is a high degree of endemism among the butterflies, fish, amphibians, reptiles, bird and mammals. The most common deer species is the Sambhur, The Monk deer and Barking deer are also found within the reserve. Leopards are very seldom sighted, but their frequent presence has been confirmed by tracks and other signs. The rare endemic birds to be seen in Sinharaja are the Red-faced Malkoha, the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, the Ashy-headed Barbbler, and the White – headed Starling and the Green – billed Coucal the rarest of Sri Lankan birds.

Day 3 - SINHARAJA – ELEPHANT TRANSIT HOME – YALA

Leave for Uda Walawe. (Approx. Transfer time: 3 hours) Visit the Elephant Transit Home. Human-elephant conflict is a major threat to the survival of elephants in Sri Lanka, with many elephants being orphaned or lost: this is where Elephant Transit Home comes in. The elephant calves are taken in, nurtured and cared for back to health. The elephants are free to roam around and are never chained – Elephant Transit Home ensures that human contact is kept to a minimum in order to maximize their chance of survival when they are returned to the wild.

Day 4 - FULL DAY YALA NATONAL PARK JEEP SAFARI

Early morning make full day jeep safari at Yala National Park. Yala national park is the second largest and most visited national safari park in Sri Lanka with numerous type of wildlife and also known for its variety of eco systems and rich biodiversity. It is situated in dry semi-arid climatic region which hosts various ecosystems from moist monsoon forests to freshwater and marine wetlands. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species with seven are endemic bird species to the country. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, crocodiles and wild buffalos.

Day 5 - YALA – ELLA

Leave for Ella. (Approx. Transfer time: 2.5 hours) Ella is a small laid-back town with amazing landscapes consisting of mountains, hilltops and luscious green tea estates. The meaning of “Ella” is waterfall and the town stands up to its name due to the many waterfalls found in and around the area.
Visit Rawana Caves. It’s famous historical landmark which is located on a rock in Ella. Ravana cave and tunnel network is a massive creation by King Ravana located in Ella Sri Lanka connected with cities / dairy farms & airports.
Visit the glorious Nine Arch Bridge between Ella and Demodara station is one of the engineering marvels in the early 20th century. The bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. The giant arches take the bridge on a curved path to link to mountains.

Day 6 - ELLA

Make visit to Lipton Seat is a popular vantage point, from where Sir Thomas Lipton would sit with a cup of tea in hand and proudly look over his estate. From here you will see one of the most breathtaking views, as the sun rises, the hills turn from a dark blue to vibrant green, the sky transforms into a kaleidoscope of colour from lilac with a burst of pink and orange before finally turning blue.
Visit to a tea factory & plantation, walk through tea plantations and take shots of “Tea Leaf Plucker Ladies” and plantation workers as they go about their daily workday. Tea plantations also offer panoramic views of the surrounding hill country, which is excellent for taking landscapes. Then to the factory where the all-important conversion to “made” black tea happens. The machinery used is of very traditional British design, some as old as 100 years. The process is a very artisanal one, unchanged for a century. Observe the process of manufacturing tea, tea grading and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea.
Visit the Diyaluma Water fall, the Sri Lanka's second tallest waterfall. The top part of the waterfall is made up of small pools and can enjoy the breathtaking views from 220m up.

Day 7 - ELLA – TRAIN TO NUWARA ELIYA

Transfer to Ella Railway Station. Make scenic train trip to Nuwara Eliya, also known as Sri Lanka’s “Little England”, is the prime hill resorts of the country. At a height of approximately 2000 m above sea level, the city has an abundance of lush tea plantations and jaw dropping scenery. Its nickname comes from the many English style bungalows and buildings still in existence today.
The train journey weaving through the scenic hill country is one of the most beautiful explorations in Sri Lanka. From the edge of soaring mountains, you will oversee the branching valleys from the mist capped mountains, sloping lush green tea plantations, villages dotted with houses, thick forests and whooshing waterfalls.

Day 8 - HORTON PLAINS & WORLD’S END – KNUCKLES

Leave for visit the Horton Plains. The Horton plains national park is the highest plateau in Sri Lanka and hosts a unique eco-system and was designated a UNESCO world heritage site. The park views are dominated by panoramic rolling grass plains, with occasional peaks topped by patches of montane forests. Most of its flora and fauna are endemic to Sri Lanka. Among many unique wildlife, Dusky striped squirrel, giant squirrel, brown mongoose, rhino-horned lizard, pygmy lizard and the black cheeked lizard are a few. The park has a healthy population of sambar deers frequently spotted grazing. The most popular and the easiest foot trail is called the world’s end & baker’s falls round trail.
Leave for Knuckles. (Approx. Transfer Time: 4 hours) Knuckles mountains which is one of the best bio-diversity hot spots, a water catchment and a wildlife reserve and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountain range is a hotspot among nature and adventure enthusiasts. The climate here is unpredictable and constantly changing.

Day 9 - CORBET’S GAP – VILLAGE TREK

Visit the Corbett’s Gap, which is a noteworthy attraction. Sitting at an elevation of 1,216 metres, it offers spectacular panoramic views of the mountain range, which makes for perfect Instagram shots.
Visit Meemure Village, known to be one of the remotest villages in Sri Lanka situated deep in the Knuckles Wilderness, The local people have maintained their traditional and cultural attitudes towards the forest’s existence. Village area is surrounded by small hills, natural pools, caves, waterfalls and lots of vegetation, and most of the flora and fauna is unique to Sri Lanka.

Day 10 - KNUCKLES MOUNTAINS – KITULGALA

Leave for Kitulgala. (Approx. Transfer time: 4 hours) Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. The Kelani River (the broadest river in Sri Lanka) flowing through Kitulgala was the main location where the Oscar-winning movie 'The Bridge over the River Kwai' was filmed. On the hill above this town, a prehistoric cave was recently discovered containing skeletal remains from some unknown civilization. Kitulgala is also a base for white-water rafting, which starts a few kilometers upstream.

Day 11 - BIRD WATCHING TOUR – NEGOMBO

Make a nature walk in the Kitulgala Forest Reserve, which is the ideal rainforest habitat to spot most of the lowland endemic species of birds including the Green-bill Coucal, Chestnut-backed Owlet, Red-faced Mal koha, Sri Lanka Spot-winged Thrush, Grey Hornbill, Sri Lanka Spur fowl, Ceylon Jungle fowl and Yellow-fronted Barbet. The newly discovered Serendib Scoops Owl was also first heard in this forest. Mammal species found here include the Grizzled Indian Squirrel, Layard’s Striped Squirrel and the Purple-faced Leaf Monkey. The streams hold endemic fish and many species of amphibians. The Earless Lizard, Kangaroo Lizard and the Hump-nosed Lizard are among the reptile species and are frequently seen in the foliage along the Kelani River.

Day 12 - NEGOMBO BOAT TOUR

Set off on a boat ride in the Negombo Lagoon, which has an expansive mangrove swamp. The Negombo lagoon boat ride would let you spot some of the lush mangroves with vast bio diversity, flora and fauna species in the area as well as water birds such as herons, terns, cormorants and shorebirds.

Cancellation charges (Sri Lanka)

Within 07 - 00 days - 100% cancellation charge.

Within 14 - 08 days - 75% cancellation charge.

Within 21-15 days - 50% cancellation charge.

If any advance payments are made to any hotels or other suppliers to reserve services, those will be added to the cancellation charges.

Hotel Confirmations

Hotels reservations will be made when confirming, however due to prevailing demand situation, final confirmation of hotel/s, will be subject to availability at the time of receiving the booking confrimation.

Hotel Rules & Regulations

The official check-in time at all hotels will be 14.00 hrs.

The official check-out time at all hotels will be 12.00 hrs.

For early arrival we recommend that the hotel to be reserved from previous day.

Cancellation policy will be applicable for any reduction of allocated / blocked rooms, after the release period.
